Completed 2015

Carroll Engineering is providing structural designs for the construction of a new 9-classroom addition at this existing Baltimore County elementary school. Currently over-capacity, the school uses multiple modular classrooms, which will now be replaced by an 11,860-GSF addition.  The single-story addition provides new classroom, storage, and restroom space for the school.

CEI completed an initial site visit and feasibility study for the proposed project, preparing a narrative with recommendations for the client.  The addition will be joined to the existing 54,800-GSF building by a connecting corridor link, and it will match existing aesthetics, including similar elevation, a pitched roof with clerestory over the classrooms, and a flat roof over the connecting link.CEI is preparing designs for interior and exterior load-bearing CMU walls, and masonry veneer.  The roof framing is metal deck supported by steel joists and steel framing, and our team has also provided designs for shallow spread footings, continuous wall footings, and reinforced concrete foundations.
