2007 - Present

Carroll Engineering has been working with the University of Maryland Medical System for more than 10 years.  We have provided designs for a variety of projects from equipment installations to new construction.

Since 2012, CEI has completed three equipment installation projects at the University of Maryland Medical Center, including designs for a Siemans CT scanner, a new Apoteca Chemotherapy Robot at the Greenbaum Cancer Center, and boom replacements in 19 general operating rooms.  Designs included load analysis, mounting brackets and supports, and structural reinforcement.  Installation of the Chemotherapy Robot also required relocation and renovation of an existing pharmacy space and staff lounge.

Our larger projects with UMMS include new construction and renovation designs.  Currently, CEI is completing civil designs for the Midtown Health Center, a project that involves construction of a new 10-story, mixed-use medical, parking, and office building.  CEI will work with MDE to provide full stormwater management and erosion/sediment control designs, as well as new utility services.  In 2007, our structural team prepared plans for the relocation of the ExpressCare facility, which included rehabilitation of the central lobby and systemic renovations.
