King of Prussia, PA

390,000 SF

Completion Expected 2016

Located just a few miles from the 2.4-million-SF King of Prussia Mall, the King of Prussia Town Center is a 390,000-SF commercial center with shops and restaurants, anchored by Wegmans, LA Fitness, REI, and Ulta.  The new retail center is part of the 125-acre Village at Valley Forge, a larger mixed-use development that combines residential space, offices, hotels, and a medical center.   Carroll Engineering provided structural designs for 10 buildings totaling 230,000 GSF, at the King of Prussia Town Center.

CEI provided designs for the North Garage, as well as a variety of retailers, including REI, Ulta, Nordstrom Rack, and Founding Farmers.  The 70,000-SF garage is a 2-story pre-cast concrete building with street-level commercial space.  All of the retail buildings are steel-framed with shallow spread footings.  CEI also prepared foundation designs for grade beam systems to avoid potential sinkholes due to karst geology.  The center will also feature an open public town square area, in which CEI designed a pergola structure over a pavilion area with a media screen.  Structural designs also included extensive retaining walls, tenant fit-outs, and HVAC supports.
